Dear Miley.

Back in the 60's and 70's, and even to an extent in the 80's, society accepted experimentation and sexual freedom to some extent. With AIDS the sexual revolution almost died and that made illegal some good drugs illegal; now everything that once was a sort of experiment, or a way to connect with nature and see reality expand through drugs became a taboo.

Pure things, in a moral sense, have changed over the years and will keep on changing. There was a time when Brooke Shields could be sexual, naked and underaged in The Blue Lagoon and, though it was controversial, it was allowed; now one can use violence in movies but God help us if some explicit sex scene comes along, or if children get involved with the natural side of the human being... Like, violence with guns is natural but sex is the devil. I find it odd that now there's a scandal if you lick a sledgehammer or get naked on a wrecking ball or make a drug reference in a song.

Sure, pot is very acceptable and everybody does it; the thing is that people start getting uncomfortable when you talk about it. I was once a doctor that introduced people into the power rituals of drugs, and studied the impact drugs have on the brain. I like the fact that you can be 20 years old and be open about it; I became an enemy when young girls started to experiment with drugs and sex and freedom in my house, around a time Jodi Foster was underaged and playing a prostitute in Taxi Driver: underage prostitutes in movies (OK), real girls exploring their sexuality and understanding the limits of conscience and expanding it with acid (not cool).

I just wanted to write to you to tell you its OK Miley, its OK to take drugs, and also OK to talk about it. Allow yourself to explore and expand your mind with them to get a better understanding of life. Get naked to feel natural, understand your body, embrace your sexual desires and explore. Next time try to embrace your new found life in drugs and make a less average pop album. You already take drugs, you're cool now. You could've made Bangerz a more breakthrough pop record and make it weirder and better, but you know...you take drugs now.

Sincerely,

Timothy Leary

P.S: Try acid Miley.
